This Week On Pinterest

Since I am on vacation this week I feel like I have had a lot of extra time to spend brousing pinterest for pretty things... here are a few of my favorites from the week!

Designer Spotlight: Peter Pilotto Resort 2013

I have to admit that I had never heard of Peter Pilotto before... but when I stumbled upon this collection I immediately fell in love. The prints in this collection are so unique and I would wear any one of these items! Sadly these will stay on my wish list as the prices are definitely beyond my reach... but as always, a girl can dream!

I am currently enjoying a well deserved vacation week at my parents new place in Coldstream BC. It's amazing! I have been spending my day by the pool and today we are headed to the lake for some paddle boarding. I will try to post some real photos soon!

It must be that Stampede just finished in Calgary because lately I have found myself searching for the perfect gingham dress. I have yet to find it but here are few gingham inspired items that I have my eyes on. Enjoy

Post Call Dreaming

Once again when I was post call today I found myself on Polyvore putting together some dream outfits. Today I was in the mood for skulls and studs... That may be reflective of how my night on call went...
Enjoy everyone! I am officially done my first block of ICU call! So relieved!

Ocean inspired

In my post call delusional state I was doing some online window shopping that started with a search for a starfish ring and resulted in some dreamy beach inspired items.
I am clearly craving an ocean vacation right about now!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends! I am back on call tomorrow... for my last ICU call shift this month! I am so relieved to have survived this block!

Fitness Friday

Well I am almost finished my third week of ICU... and let's just say that I am TIRED!
Needless to say my workouts have been more sporadic this month due to my schedule.
Here was the workout I did yesterday after coming home from the hospital

10 minute warm up of your choice (I biked, you could run, skip, dance... you choose!)

10 times through the following intervals:

2 minute run (5 km speed or so... fairly hard but not a sprint)
15 dumbbell/ barbell lifts (lift the bar to just under your chin, elbows pointed outwards)
25 ab-ball sit ups
10 box jumps
30 straight leg raises per leg (sitting with back to wall, lift leg straight up to about 1 foot off the floor and then lower for 30 reps, then switch legs)

And don't forget to stretch!
And if you can, eating something with both carbs and protein within 15 minutes of doing a workout will make the most of all that hard work you just did!

I have this weekend off so I have been busy catching up on life and sleep! It is wonderful

If I Ever...

I was never a girl who grew up dreaming of getting married and planning my wedding. Truth be told I never really pictured myself getting married. It's not that I don't want to be with someone, but I just thought the ritual of marriage wasn't necessary. Now I still don't believe a marriage is needed to commit yourself to someone, but lately I have found myself thinking that maybe marriage isn't such a bad idea. I blame this partly on Pinterest and all the pretty wedding pictures that are floating around, teasing me with pretty lace and sparkles (what can I say I am drawn to shiny things). There also seems to have been an explosion of engagements and weddings recently (is that just me?) and watching people around me get so excited about planning their special day has made think about what I would want at my wedding...
So all that being said here are a few things that I have my eye on... If I ever say "I do"

So I don't own a house... but I plan to one day and I love the thought of decorating a place that's all my own with things that I love
